5 Unconventional Ways to Be More Environmental

1.)   Use a pressure cooker: they can take up to 70% less time and less energy to cook a full meal, including soup, pot roast, chili, chicken, corn bread, even desserts.
2.)   Microwave instead of ovens: they use less energy compared to toaster ovens and even less compared to conventional ovens. They can cook more varieties then you think, including full meals and desserts.
3.)    Turn down the water heater: adjusting the heater to 120 degrees or so can save you up to 10% in water heating costs.
4.)   Use a low flow showerhead: one of these can cost as low as $5. You can save 25 to 60% less water in the shower.

5.)   Get insulated: there is a high upfront costs, but not only will you reduce your carbon footprint, you will also be reducing your energy bill that will cover the cost over time.
